Pulp Fashion: Isabelle de Borchgrave

The Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco has announced that their exhibition "Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave" will open February 5th and run through June 5th and will be the most comprehensive exhibition of the artist's work. Borchgrave has been working over the last 15 years; creating the most exquisite reproductions of various historical costumes; using paper as her sole form of textile.  She manipulates and colors paper to create each piece, and the end result is 'tromp l'oeil' in its truest form. I'm hoping to get get out to the west coast at some point this spring/summer to see this!

Givenchy Spring 2011 Haute Couture

Riccardo Tisci set a precedent for modeling and the fashion world casting an all Asian model lineup for his show. This season's haute couture collection, inspired by the Japanese dance art of 'butoh.' Models from Korea, China and Japan were all represented in this stunning collection.

Balmain MEN

This was too good not to post today. The new Balmain Pre-Fall 2011 Collection is RIDICULOUS! These are looks I think a lot of women could rock too.... at the least appropriate some of the styling for some fabulous fall looks next year. This collection is completely drool worthy... one of my favorite men's collection in..... years?!!!

Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011

Too good not to post. Sarah Burton seems to be handling her new role as head of Alexander Mcqueen QUITE well. Staying true to the roots of the brand and infusing her own signature into the designs, the pre-fall 2011 collection recalls a kind of world war I military wardrobe... excellenty executed and beautifully constructed. Some of my favorites from the HUGE (250 pieces) collection.
